ANNABELLE GALLO
When Annabelle was just 3 years old, her father’s co-worker had a daughter who danced and invited Annabelle to come give her studio a try. She fell in love with it and has been dancing there ever since. Annabelle is a senior and this is her second year on the Advanced Dance Team at Wilson. In addition, Annabelle continues to perform with her award-winning competition performing groups at her studio, The Dance Company in Long Beach. Annabelle’s future plans include going to college in Oregon and begin a career working with Autistic children. She would also like to continue dancing. Annabelle enjoys listening to music, shopping and going to “The Happiest Place on Earth” =Disneyland.
HAILEY BATCHELOR
Hailey is another M.A.D. team member who credits her big sister, Amber for introducing her to dance. At just 3 years old Hailey was excited to begin dance lessons of her own and she was hooked. She's been performing and competing in dance for most of her life and despite a difficult academic work-load, Hailey continues to dance outside of school at On-Stage Dance Company in Los Alamitos, where she is part of an elite, award-winning competition team. Hailey is a junior this year at Wilson, where she is an honors student in the Distinguished Scholars Program, a Link-Crew Leader and also on ASB. This is her second year on the Advanced Dance Team. Hailey plans to attend a university after high school and study to be a doctor. She also looks forward to being a mother one day. In her limited spare time Hailey enjoys working out, swimming, volunteering and doing things with her family and friends. She loves cold weather, anything chocolate and having the opportunity to help others. Hailey got her driver’s license last year and is very thankful she does not personally know anyone who’s been killed or injured due to distracted driving. She hopes this campaign makes people remember how dangerous texting and driving really is and that they will drive more carefully.
CHLOE FLETCHER:
Chloe began dancing in first grade after being inspired watching a Disneyland Parade. Dance is Chloe's true passion and she plans on not only continuing dancing as a career, but also owning her own dance studio one day. She has performed in numerous dance shows as well as in award-winning competition dance groups at Center Stage in Long Beach. Last year, Chloe was one of only two freshman to make the Advanced Dance Team at Wilson HS. Now, a sophomore, Chloe is excited to continue on the dance team as well as get her driver's learning permit later this year. Chloe's favorite treat is fried pickles and nothing makes her happier than working for good causes.
MAKENNA GEIGER:
Makenna is thrilled to be part of the team and sharing her love of dance while supporting worthy causes. She is especially excited about working on the "Don't Text and Drive/It Can Wait" after being personally impacted, when a friend-of-a-friend suffered serious brain damage after being rear-ended by a distracted driver. Makenna is a new driver herself and looks forward to getting her license very soon. She began dancing seriously when she was eight and has performed in many recitals. She has trained at The Dance Company in Long Beach where she is also part of several competition performing groups for tap and jazz which are her favorite. Makenna is very happy to be joining the Advanced Dance Team at Wilson HS this year where she is a junior. When Makenna isn't busy dancing and performing, she loves to bake and travel. Her future dreams include becoming an E! News correspondent.
SHELBY ISHIMINE
Shelby has been dancing seriously with her cousin, Payton Latimer, since she was four years old. Not only cousins, they lived in the same neighborhood and carpooled. Shelby spent as much time at dance classes as she did in school and has appeared in numerous shows and recitals. She has also won many awards with her competition performing groups at her previous studio, The Dance Company in Long Beach. Shelby is a junior this year at Wilson and has been on the Advanced Dance Team since she was a freshman. In addition to a busy dance schedule, Shelby is also an honor student in the Distinguished Scholars program, and a link-crew leader. She is planning to attend college, and is interested in majoring in chemistry or physics. Shelby was determined to get her driver’s license on her actual 16th birthday and didn’t let a running over a dead skunk on the way to the DMV ruin her wish. Fortunately she passed her test with flying colors. When Shelby isn’t dancing or hard at work studying, she enjoys hanging out with her friends at the beach.
PAYTON LATIMER:
Payton remembers tagging along to her older sister’s dance lessons when she was in preschool. Her sister found gymnastics and soccer, much more appealing, and soon quit dance, but Payton was hooked. From early childhood she loved expressing herself artistically through dance and loved that it didn’t have the pressure of competitive team sports. Payton is a junior and thrilled to be joining the Advanced Dance Team this year, after dancing in 7/8 at Wilson since she was a freshman. Payton has also spent many years dancing outside of school on award-winning, national competition teams at The Dance Company. Several of her dance studio team mates, as well as her cousin, Shelby Ishimine, are also participating in this project. Although Payton doesn’t personally know anyone involved in an accident due to distracted driving, she herself is a brand-new driver who’s very frightened at how many people she notices texting behind the wheel. She hopes people will be more cautious. After high school, Payton plans to attend college and study psychology. When she isn’t dancing, she enjoys getting away to her second home in Idaho and doing some outdoor sports like fly-fishing (catch and release). She also loves horror movies, flaming-hot Cheetos, and lately, watching Grey's Anatomy re-runs.
CARLY MINER
Long Beach native, Carly Miner has been performing since she was a toddler. After dancing and singing around her house all the time, she began formal training at age 2 and hasn't stopped since. In addition to performing in numerous dance shows and musical theater productions, Carly is also an honor-roll student in the Distinguished Scholars Program and is very involved as a leader at Wilson Classical High School where she is a junior this year. Carly is a member of ASB, Link Crew, and has been on the Advanced Dance Team since freshman year. Carly plans to attend college as well as pursue acting and do something with her life that makes the world a better place. She loves living at the beach, school, dance and just having fun with her friends and family. She is very excited to be doing the "Don't Text and Drive-It Can Wait" Campaign as she just got her driver's license this summer.
HANNAH MORENO
When Hannah was four years old, she remembers watching Beyoncé performing on TV and knew she wanted to dance. She has grown up taking lessons at The Dance Company in Long Beach and has performed on many award-winning competition teams along with Shelby, Payton, Annabelle, Scarlett and Makenna. Hannah is a junior at Wilson High School and this will be her second year on the Advanced Dance Team. In addition to dance, she’s an honors student in the Distinguished Scholars Program and a link crew leader. Hannah plans to attend college and is leaning towards studying nursing or something in the medical field. She also plans to continue dancing throughout her life. In addition to being a wonderful dancer, Hannah grew up accompanying her father on hunting trips and is an extremely accurate target shooter herself nowadays. When Hannah isn’t dancing or working hard at her studies, she holds a part-time job and enjoys hanging out with her friends. Her new obsession is hot yoga! Hannah got her driver’s license last year and is very thankful she has not known anyone personally that’s been injured or killed by distracted driving. –And she hopes to keep it that way through this awareness campaign.
CLAIRE SMITH
Claire began dancing at age 3 when she fell in love with ballet. She soon began loving other styles of dance as well as cheerleading and tumbling. Claire is very excited to be a senior this year at Wilson Classical High School where she is an honor-roll student in the Distinguished Scholars Program. She was also selected to be a "Z" girl which is reserved for the 20 seniors who are the most active at school and hold the most community service hours. In addition to a full course load of demanding academics, Claire also spent two years cheerleading for her school and was captain of the squad for one year. She has also been dancing all four years and this will be her second year on the Advanced Dance Team. Claire plans to attend college somewhere in LA and continue dancing. She got her driver's license last year and is proud to be part of the "Don't Text and Drive-It Can Wait" campaign.
SCARLETT STEHNO
Scarlett grew up in a dance studio tagging along with her older sister Hunter who dances. Finally, at the ripe-old age of 2, Scarlett could begin classes of her own. She also caught the dancing bug and has performed in countless dance shows, revues and has been on award-winning competition/performing teams most of her life. In addition to training long hours with her teams at The Dance Company in Long Beach, she was also one of only two freshman to make the Advanced Dance Team at Wilson Classical High School last year. After seeing the movie "WHIP IT" Scarlett fell in love with roller derby and spent two years skaing with a team as "Scarlett's Web" A huge animal lover, Scarlett is the proud owner of two dogs and cats, as well as a turtle and a bunny. Her future plans are to continue working as an artist and she is very excited to get her driver's learning permit soon!

***BIO TO COME****
JOSH KAUFMAN - Producer
Josh fell into filmmaking by default. All his friends were skateboarders and since he wasn’t, they put him in charge of videotaping their moves and tricks. It spared him many broken bones and also introduced him to his greatest passion. Josh was just a middle school student when he began getting paid jobs to videotape events and parties. With each passing year, the jobs got bigger. For his freshman year of high school, Josh decided to explore the film/TV department at OCHSA, but intended to return to his neighborhood school with all his friends the following year. He immediately fell in love with OCHSA and knew he couldn’t possibly leave. Now a senior, Josh is up-in-the-air about his future plans. Although he’s excited about having so many wonderful opportunities, his mind changes daily from wanting to pursue film school at USC, NYU or Chapman, or go directly to work. His dream job would be directing live TV. Josh has another interest which is aviation and getting his pilot’s license one day. This project is important to Josh because of a close-call that still haunts him. He was coming around a corner when suddenly; an on-coming car was headed right for him. The driver was a young girl texting behind the wheel and not paying attention to the road. Luckily Josh swerved out of the way and avoided what surely would have been a terrible, if not fatal head-on collision.
TAYLOR HUDDLESON
Taylor has been studying film production at OCHSA since freshman year and hopes to attend Chapman University to continue studying film as well as business. Taylor is a YouTube enthusiast with his own channel. In addition to making films, he enjoys going to the movies, YouTube, basketball and Dr. Pepper. Taylor is very happy that he doesn't personally know anyone killed or injured by distracted driving and hopes to keep it that way with this project.
ANTHONY LIECHTI
Anthony fell into film production when he was just 8 years old and produced his very own You Tube page. Over the years the videos had a much higher production value and just last year his first feature: HOMELESS, was up for many awards at various film festivals including the Newport Beach Film Festival. Anthony's dream is to have one of his films be accepted to Sundance and from there, continue a long career of film making. Anthony is fluent in Swedish and was taught the language by his father who is of Swedish descent. In addition to film making, Anthony has a passion for cameras, loves chicken strips and enjoys spending time with his family.
JOSHUA NEEL:
Joshua is a true creative talent that never allowed limited resources to stand in the way of fulfilling a dream. Joshua receieved a creative and unconventional education at the Waldorf School of Orange County. Education was always very important to his mother and through his experience at Waldorf, he grew to love it too. He credits the Waldorf school for his "Can-Do" attitude and for his ability to think "outside the box" Joshua came to OCHSA's Film and Television program having never touched a camera but after diving into something completely new, he quickly loved it and plans to pursue it after high school. If Joshua isn't working on a film/TV project, he will most likely be creating something. Be it knitwear or synthesizers, he loves it all. This project appealed to Joshua who will be getting his driver's license just as soon as he has some spare time, because he feels people should think more behind the wheel. They do dangerous things without thinking. Joshua plans to become the next Stanley Kubrick and is beginning to explore his many opportunities following his graduation from OCHSA next spring.
RILEY PETERSON:
Riley grew up with a camera in his hand. From the time he was just 3 years old, he was grabbing the video camera from his dad and taking over. If his parents couldn’t find the cameras, they would have to look no further than Riley’s room to retrieve them. It makes sense as Riley suffers from Dyslexia and reading was difficult and extremely time consuming. Although a very bright child, Riley learned differently and struggled trying to conform to traditional academic standards. Through special educational support, Riley has been able to succeed in school and also pursue his passion. He also struggles with severe A.D.D. which, even with medication, can greatly affect his mood and energy levels. He loves a good strong cup of black coffee every morning which has become his vital “Breakfast of Champions”. Riley is a sophomore at OCHSA and he plans to be a professional cinematographer when he finishes school. His preference would be to work on sci-fi projects or longer narrative features. He is working on this project in part for his cousin, who has had several auto accidents. “THIS ONE’S FOR YOU!” he quotes. He hopes this video makes everyone THINK and become more cautious drivers.
LORRAINE SHALLER:
Lorraine got her start in film making when she got a Flip video camera from her mom on her 11th birthday. She began by making stop-motion videos with her brother's G.I. Joe's and she has been hooked ever since. Although she loves making films, Lorraine plans to go to college and study geology, geophysics, seismology, vulanology, or planetary sciences. Film making will either be done in her spare time or she will possibly do documentary films related to her studies. In addition to film making, Lorraine enjoys writing screenplays, seeing James Bond movies, and reading. She holds a brown belt in Taekwondo which should be a black belt but she had an unfortunate injury during her belt test which required surgery and took her out of class. This project is important to Lorraine who everyday has a reminder of the seriousness of this cause when she drives by the corner where a girl in her neighborhood, just her age, was killed in a drunk driving accident.
